Outside of the RESIDENCY
I am twenty years old, I graduated high school with my A.A. degree in 2012. I was a dual enrollment student at Lake Sumter Community College ( now it is Lake Sumter State College) while I also attended Mount Dora High. I consider this to be my second greatest accomplishment, my first would have to be being accepted in to the Residency Program. After graduation I moved to Tampa to attend USF. Unfortunately, I had to wait a semester so I attended Hillsborough Community College. I took classes not that I needed but that I wanted to take, like World Religions, American Sign Language and Personal Finance among others. I fell in love with ASL and I plan to continue learning it until I am proficient.
I have a wonderful family. I have one brother, 22, and one sister, 9. My sister is a huge part of my life, I have always wanted to be a teacher but I think she has helped me solidify that belief. There is such an age difference between us that I strive to be a mentor and I know I can do that, so what's to say that I can't be that for hundreds of kids in the coming years? My parents are very supportive, as well as many of my aunts and uncles. Growing up I had many cousins my own age and I have grown close to them over the years. Even though we are all starting to go on very different life paths I hope that we continue to be so close to them. As well as my family, I have many friends that have helped me become who I am today.
Other things that influenced me to become a teacher were my time spent with Special Olympics and my time at Kids College Summer Camp.
I love to read for pleasure, not so much for school but I will get there. I also love to write stories and to tell them. My hope is to one day publish many different books, many of which I intend to be for children. I am a very passionate person, when I believe in something it will get accomplished. I will work until my body can't work any longer then I will keep working until my mind can't handle it, which takes a lot.
